AMMONITES
Rare and unusual OPALIZED AMMONITE. When you
hold one of these specimens under the sun or even in artifical light you will see a vivid rainbow flash of
colors! NOT a surface phenomenon, the play of colors is deep inside and thruout the specimen similar to precious Opal.
Its very difficult to photograph the true brillance of these beauties. These are excellent display specimens and will
spark conversation when seen in your collection! Some suture lines are still visible on some specimens. It has taken me three
years to acquire these very high quality polished Ammonites from the miners in Madagascar. When I
acquired them, I was told that the late Jurrasic/ early Cretaceous age deposit where these particular Ammonites were found
has been cleaned out. You will be hard pressed to find Ammonites of this size and quality except in a
museum or someone's collection. Ammonites are "Cleoniceras" from the Mitsinjo Region of Madagascar and are UNDAMAGED.
