White Elephant Mine, Mojave Desert, CA.
I have placed a claim on this unique
deposit and am still in the process of working out all the "kinks". This is a polymetallic deposit and was worked in the past
primarily for Silver although Lead and Zinc are also present. As of this date we can
say there is Shortwave fluorescent; Red to Yellow CALCITE, Pink to Lavender SMITHSONITE, White
(and phosphorescent) ARAGONITE, Blue/ White DIOPSIDE, Bright Blue HYDROZINCITE, Green HYALITE and Orange
CALICHE. I used an 18watt WAY-TOO-COOL lamp to illuminate the front of these
specimens and a WAY-TOO-COOL 9 watt to illuminate the top.
